Xitang Water Town, lying in Jiashan County in Jiaxing City, Zhejiang Province, is a famous town with thousands of years of history. 8DGE was invited by Mu Yue Group to develop a concept proposal for their property in Xitang.
Taking inspiration from traditional Chinese landscape architecture, the boutique hotel’s layout was organized around courtyards. This results in all rooms either having river views or inner courtyard views. Muyue’s inn design language interprets traditional Chinese architecture with a contemporary twist. White and grey design accents of the facades are offset by traditional ceramic cast tiles and floor to ceiling windows framing scenic views.
